Born On This Day:
M. Night Shyamalan turns 42 today
An American screenwriter, film director, and producer known for making movies with contemporary supernatural plots. He is also known for filming his movies (and staging his plots) in and around Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was raised. Most of Shyamalan's commercially successful films were co-produced by Disney's Touchstone Pictures film division. 

In Memoriam:
Harry Reasone died 21 years ago today
An American journalist for ABC and CBS News, known for his inventive use of language as a television commentator, and as a founder of the 60 Minutes program. He served in World War II and then resumed his journalism career with The Minneapolis Times. His novel Tell Me About Women, about a fading marriage, was written partly during his WWII service and was first published in 1946.
