Julie Andrews turns 77 today
An English film and stage actress, singer, and author. She is the recipient of Golden Globe, Emmy, Grammy, BAFTA, People's Choice Award, Theatre World Award, Screen Actors Guild and Academy Award honours. In 2000 she was made a Dame for services to the performing arts by Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace.

E. B. White died 27 years ago today
Elwyn Brooks White, usually known as E. B. White, was an American writer. He was a contributor to The New Yorker magazine and a co-author of the English language style guide, The Elements of Style, which is commonly known as "Strunk & White." He also wrote books for children, including Charlotte's Web and Stuart Little.
