Katey Sagal turns 59 today
An American actress and singer-songwriter. She first achieved widespread fame as Peggy Bundy on the long-running Fox comedy series Married... with Children, for which she was nominated for four Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress in a Comedy Television Series and two American Comedy Awards during the show's run. Sagal is well known for voicing the character Leela on the animated science fiction series Futurama and its related direct-to-DVD movies since 1999.

Wilson Pickett died 7 years ago today
An American R&B;/Soul singer and songwriter. A major figure in the development of American soul music, Pickett recorded over 50 songs which made the US R&B; charts, and frequently crossed over to the US Billboard Hot 100. Among his best known hits are "In the Midnight Hour" (which he co-wrote), "Land of 1,000 Dances", "Mustang Sally", and "Funky Broadway". The impact of Pickett's songwriting and recording led to his 1991 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
