Norman Reedus turns 44 today
An American actor. He is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Murphy MacManus in the 1999 film The Boondock Saints as well as its 2009 sequel The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day and for the character of Daryl Dixon in the AMC television series The Walking Dead. He has also directed several videos and modeled for various fashion designers.

Louis Braille died 161 years ago today
The inventor of braille, a system of reading and writing used by people who are blind or visually impaired. As a small child, Braille was blinded in an accident; as a boy he developed a mastery over that blindness; and as a young man he created a revolutionary form of communication that transcended blindness and transformed the lives of millions.
